Interview: Professional Dominatrix - Mistress Chalice

Author: Miss Coochie Couture

I have the utmost respect for Professional Dominatrices, I feel people underestimate how hard a job it is. They are generally amazing business women and an inspiration in their work ethic.

I feel very very lucky to call a few of them friends. So it gives me great pleasure to be able to have a chat with the awesome Perth based Domme, MISTRESS CHALICE and I feel highly privileged to be able to share this with you too.

How did you get into being a professional SADIST ?

“You are correct that I am a sadist, and I genuinely enjoy inflicting pain (safely and consensually).  However there is so much more to this professional mistress.  The services that I provide are almost endless.

As to the sadism -I do love it.  The twinkle that I get in my eye attests to that and it is something my regular clients love to see.  To know that they are accepting of the pain I yield simply to make me happy makes my heart sing.

My start - kink was always within me but was only unleashed after ending a long term relationship. I had always been in long term relationships with very dominant men, I think I was searching for someone to keep me safe. My choices were not smart ones and I realised that I was the dominant one and I could keep myself safe ! At this time I was in the corporate world I decided to pursue something that I truely love as a job. And there will be no turning back.”

Do you have a favourite type of session ?

“First would be when clients are blown away by the session whether they be newbies or seasoned players.

I love fetishes, impact, pegging with significant focus on role play.  I am an artist, performer in real life so this stimulates me.  My client and I can fully immerse ourselves into the session, I am wickedly creative. I like to dress accordingly for whatever I have planned.  I will involve my clients with my plan as much as they need to feel comfortable for the session.”

You have quite a few regular and long term clients, do you ever consider collaring them ?

“Some I consider “collared” without the formal process. They are mine with absolute devotion and loyalty. I have had a couple stray but they have come back and I have punished them to a point. There is an understanding between us and long term clients do get special treatment from me.

Care needs to be taken with clients potential dependency upon you. I have enforced breaks when I have felt this from a client. Also I dont like sessions to be the same and when you have seen a client for 30 sessions I feel that our dynamic might be getting stale. I dont like to feel bored and I dont want my clients to feel bored either.”

What have you found are the most difficult parts of your job?

“I have a crazy busy life. Caring for my elderly father is my number 1 priority. Clients often want sessions with no notice, this is unrealistic and disrespectful as we as professionals Dommes also have a life ! I will fit a client in if I can but if can be frustrating. Good notice leads to a good session as I tailor each session to my clients individual needs. I also do not session when I am exceptionally tired as I always want to give MY BEST to each and every session.

TRUST ME YOU WANT ME AT MY BEST !

Following the initial telephone verification with new clients, I specifically request no phone calls only email or preferably sms yet some are unable to follow these simply instructions. Again it comes down to respect.”

Have you found any effective ways to reduce TIME WASTERS ?

“I do find a phone call with a potential client a good way of weeding out those time wasters.  The call must be booked with me but it is a way of helping the client relax as they realise I am a real person and can answer any questions that they have. It helps them relax.  They still arrive shaking with nervous energy and anticipation which I love.

I emoji code my client contacts, (trust me you want to be a DIAMOND). I block time wasters, they get 1 chance but that is it! The Domme sisterhood do share information. I don’t hesitate to BLACK LIST a client if they are a persistence time waster or dangerous. We are smart, savvy people.”

As with any profession where a person is successful, an approach which includes lifelong learning is really important, what are you looking to learn in 2024?

“How to pack 48 hours into 1 day would be a great start lol.

Skills wise - enhance skills in heavy bondage, mummification and shibari. Most of this requires professional equipment. I have a great set up but suspension and and heavy bondage - eg suction bed are on the cards.

There are some acclaimed Eastern States Mistresses that I would love to work with…I am hoping to tour next year. It is a plan in progress requiring some life changes to bring to reality.”

Are there any other Mistresses you admire or would love to learn from or potentially do doubles with ?

“I do provide duo sessions with some of Perths best DOMMES.

Outside of the WA network yes, legends such as Ms Servalan, Mistress Tokyo, Mistress Electra Amore. To session with them would be a dream come true. “

I think most clients and outsiders don't quite understand how hard your industry can be, the amount of effort that is required to organise, plan a session, run it and then clean up afterwards. Let alone run social media accounts, creat content for your website and manage lol the other parts of your business and life. What would make your life easier ?

Clients having manners and being thoughtful would address most of these. A social media manager would make my life so….much easier.

I know we’ve got some crazy shit planned in the coming months for kink, and for our first burlesque duo, but what is one thing you want to try but haven’t had a chance to yet?

“That’s a tough question given I have done so much in my life, I would like to try being rich, that would be nice, lol I wouldn’t keep that much but the Animal Rescue that I am a part of would benefit nicely.

Ok, Finally, for anyone new or wanting to get into the industry, what do you think is the key to ensure you get the right number of bookings you need?

“Be prepared to work very hard. You will have to invest significant money. Keep your expectations reasonable. Most potential clients have existing providers. You need to stand out to claim them. The Perth client base is small in comparison to the amount of providers so there is significant competition.”
